The purpose of this thread is to gauge interest in holding a tournament for arena-style Dungeons & Dragons combat. This would essentially consist of people making D&D characters for the purpose of duking it out in a friendly tournament. If there is interest, we could hold an on-going league rather than a single event. Maybe we could give away some of the new 4th Edition books as prizes if we get enough people.
The tournament(s) could take place during normal AUG events, or at other times if the need/want arises. If you are interested in playing, please respond to this thread. If there is enough interest, I'll hammer out some more details.

It sounds like it could be fun. I know very little about D&D but I'm sure I could get someone to help me out.

It sounds like it could be fun. I know very little about D&D but I'm sure I could get someone to help me out. Knowledge of D&D and the D&D rules is not necessary. While it may be helpful, and you will probably be able to make a more "effective" competitive character if you already have knowledge of the rules, I (and others) will certainly be willing to help teach the rules. If this actually ends up happening, I'll post some guidelines (either here or on the website) about making competitive characters, along with the rules of the tournament.
