Anyone wandering around with smallish (or largish) w40k army? I've got some number of SoBs with me and I'd love a game at some point, but so far I've been unable to find many people who've brought their minis to campus.
(Admittedly, my sisters are in various states of travel-caused disrepair, so I'm not up for a game immediately, but at some point it would be a nice diversion.)

While I haven't been to any meetings, I'm glad that there are other 40k players here.
I've got about 4000 points of Marines with me, along with about 1500 of Eldar, and 3000 of Dwarfs for Fantasy. I've already played a few games over at DreamWizards, a store up in White Flint, about a mile from the Metro. If you ever want a game, just shoot me an email- at2770a@american.edu. -Blaine

Would you guys mind sort of "showing off" the game at one of our events sometime? I know there would probably be plenty of people interested in watching/learning (including me). Let me know what you think!

I'd be interested, but like I said, it'll take me a while to get things presentable. (Not to mention that I think they've changed the rules once or twice since I played last.)

Don't worry, there would be no hurry.
I'll try to see if I can find any other people who play.

I have always wanted to learn how to play. The only problem is I don't have the ability/attention span to paint my models.

Also, I've got 2 types of armies with me, and will be buying a third (Chaos) shortly. Demo games would be great to do for everyone, the only problem being that as far as I know, there isn't a gaming table anywhere on campus, with terrain and such. We could improvise or what not, so its not too big of a deal.

Quite. I've often sufficed with books, soda cans, crumpled pieces of paper, etc.
I'd be up for a demonstration at some point, though I've only got about 750 pts with me. (Which is probably a good size for a demo as beyond the 1500 pt mark games seem to take upwards of 3 hours.)
Which armies do you currently have?
Nevermind, I can just scroll up. >_>

If a few people come out of the woodwork, would you (dingareth) be interested in setting up a league or small campaign?

Of course, I was a "Hobby Specialist" back at my local Games Workshop store, which pretty much meant that I worked there without getting paid, so I've got plenty of scenarios and stuff to draw from if we can get a small campaign together.
And here I was thinking that I was going to be the only one here on campus familiar with 40k... Well apparently I was wrong.

Then again, it could be just us two. Haha.

Actually, there's three of us on my floor, but I'm the only one with an army with me. We've got 2 Imperial Guard players here, so many good guys... and no baddies.

Meh. Good vs evil is boring. Call it a civil war or something, with the planet having fully justifiable reasons for protesting Imperial rule and the Empire having justifiable reasons for wanting them to stay.

There is no problem a good civil war can not cure.

well, i am also ecstatic to learn that there are other players here, and that there is a Metro accessible hobby shop. I am not sure if any of your 40k guys have kept up with /tg/ on 4chan, but I am actually painting my Space Marines as Angry Marines... I am completely doing them the right way too, with a professional airbrush. I look forward to bringing them with me back to campus after christmas break (when i finish painting them). at that point, i would love to participate in a campaign of some sort - and to the gentleman who is concerned about good guys fighting themselves, do not worry - the Angry Marines are quite tempramental, and almost anything can set them off. They will finish most battles quickly, especially with their Heavy Bolters, which are the Angriest of Bolters...
