So the end of another academic year is upon us. Many of us will be returning home to our families and be away from DC for a few months. Others are graduating, and we wish them the best.
As for those of us who will be in the DC area over the summer, if we're not bogged down with work, we'll most likely be looking for something to do.
If anyone is interested in running a game this summer, and if there are people interested in playing, here's a thread to organize all that.

If you all want, we could have a meeting like before. Or we could just have people use these message boards.

I think both are good options.

either could work but probably online is better. Most of us have a lot of work and trying to find some time to set aside would suck. Either way I want in.

I might be in as well. Either way I will be living at home in Alexandria for the summer, so campus is only an hour away on the metro.

I'll try to facilitate and expedite the process by brainstorming what can be run?
Anyway, there are two White Wolf games currently going on, and for me, I know I would like to do something other than World of Darkness for a brief time. It'd help keep my mind fresh for when Mage and Vampire resume in the fall.
I have books for D&D 3.5 and the Star Wars Saga Edition. I also have some oldies but goodies like Cyberpunk and d6 Star Wars (core book only for that) on hand. Problem is, I don't know what my employment situation is, so I don't know if I can run anything.
But I would be interested in anything that isn't WoD.

4th edition D&D will be coming out soon. Anyone getting the books? I was thinking maybe AUG could pick up the core books to be club property, if we have enough money. No promises though. If there is interest I would consider testing it out w/ folks. I don't even know if I'll like it, but there's only one way to find out.

If you want to run 4.0 I would love to give it a try. I would also love to try any other dnd. Kinda long time since I have played so I would like to try it even if it is only briefly

If you guys decide to have a meeting about summer RPGs, don't forget that I'll want to play when I get back from Cairo (at the beginning of June)!
I might be interested in playing 4.0. I've also been into learning different systems lately. I'll keep reading the boards and see what comes up.

Count me in for any 4.0 experimentation.

I think we'll forgo having any sort of meeting unless anyone particularly wants to. Folks should feel free to figure out RPGs over these boards though. I think I'll definitely run some sort of D&D, either 3.5 or 4.0 if AUG can get the books. And maybe I'll run something else. I'm looking to game a lot this summer.

I'd had a thought: I know that next month they're releasing Keep on the Shadowfell, a module that also serves as a preview of the new rules; it lasts three levels. It seems to me that if the club owned it, it could also be an easy way for newbies to try their hand at running games. And it would cost a lot less than all three of the core books.
Just a thought.

From the looks of things, we easily have enough money for both. Good idea for something to run, but I'd much rather run my own thing. Someone else should feel free to use it though.

Staring at my RPG books makes me realize that I've already spent hundreds of dollars on 3.5 books, and I already am familiar with those rules, so it's likely that I'll just skip 4.0 and do 3.5 instead. If anyone else happens to pick up 4.0 though, I'd love to take a look.

I'm sure I'll end up buying 4.0, but possibly not 'til GenCon (my group sometimes gets these kinds of things for free, so I'm holding out ^^).
